10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge

This blog post is in response to  Natalie’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge Day 7  #10DBC, #freedomplan

Note from Natalie:

Beating Procrastination And Overwhelm. This dreaded double-threat can prevent you from living the freedom lifestyle by keeping you stuck. Today’s challenge is all about overcoming procrastination and overwhelm, and creating more freedom in your life.

Day 7 Challenge:

For today’s challenge I want you to pick one imperfect action that you can take every day that will move you closer to the life you have envisioned. It could be 5 minutes of walking or meditation, or even just continuing the momentum of this challenge and keep writing 200 words a day on your blog. Pick that one imperfect action and write a post about why you chose the particular action and what you imagine it will be like if you do it every day for the next 30 days.

Beating Procrastination And Overwhelm

Procrastination and Overwhelm are two sides of the same coin, and their only purpose is to keep you stuck in the place you are. But here’s the secret — any time you feel either of them, it’s an indication that you are on the right path. Natalie Sisson

TRUTH BOMB: Coming clean…Yesterday I nearly gave up on the Blog Challenge. I had a long day at work. I was tired. When I got home from work I just wanted to go to bed. I was just feeling so overwhelmed by everything. I had not even finished my post for the day. I did not know whether or not I would get it done. It was late and all I wanted to do was just go to bed.

It would have been easy to quit

The easiest thing would have been to throw in the towel and QUIT the challenge.  Here I was day 6 of the challenge. I had made it to the half way point. I should have been ecstatic about how well I did. Instead I just felt like I couldn’t do it.  I wanted to quit. I started to question if I could do it…would I finish. You name the thought I had it.

What got me back on track

I went back to my post from Day 2 of the challenge. I went back to my WHY. This is what helped me to push forward and keep going. The power of my why made all the difference. If you have not yet discovered your why I strongly encourage you to tap into your why. It is your most powerful superpower! There is nothing stronger that your why. Your why is what allows you to be “faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to leap tall buildings at a single bound!”

My Commitment

The one imperfect action I will take every day is to just show up for myself. By showing up I mean I will do one thing every day in my business that will bring me closer to my goal.  As well as continue answering all the daily blog challenges and sharing it in the comments and sharing it on social media. Prize or no prize I truly feel like I have already won the greatest prize of all, which are the powerful lessons I have learned along the way from participating in this challenge.

More Specifically

I will spend 30 – 60 minutes each day focused on WRITING so I can keep the momentum going after the blog challenge has ended.  Writing is one of my superpowers. It is one of the things I absolutely love doing. I feel like through this challenge I have reconnected with my writing, my voice and my passion. Writing is also a big part of my mindset practice. I have really enjoyed cultivating the daily practice of writing for the blog challenge. It has truly been very illuminating to watch what takes shape each and every day. It has been such a powerful and enriching experience. The accomplishment feedback that comes with posting each challenge has really been great. That feeling I get every day when I hit post or publish.

My 30 Day Blog Challenge

Everyday for the next 30 days I will commit to writing and posting one  500 – 700 word blog post. I am very excited to continue my own blog challenge. I will also post to social media and comment. I will also continue to use the hashtags #30DBC,  #freedomplan and draw inspiration and ideas from Natalie Sisson. This truly has been an awesome experience. So glad I stuck with it and did not give up. Feeling grateful and so excited!

Thank you Natalie Sisson!

Thank you Natalie for today’s challenge. It was very well timed for me. The thing that stood out for me today is just how important it is to take action and to consistently show up  for myself and do the work. Today’s challenged really reignited my commitment to myself to push forward and to keep going no matter what.
